Making Music in Music City!

I made it! I've actually been here for a week and a half at this point and it seems I have been completely swept up into the hustle and bustle of this music filled city.

The first thing I noticed was that when you drive through the city with your windows down and your radio off, your vehicle is instantly filled with the soundtrack of the city.  Honkey Tonks are littered everywhere and the sound of live music bleeds onto the streets and inevitably ends up keeping you company as you drive through town.

The second thing I noticed was how friendly everyone is.  In a city where approximately 100 people are moving here per day, it's no wonder people are so welcoming.  After all, they too were once one of those newly arrived, hopeful songwriters and musicians.

Once I landed I quickly signed up with the Nashville Songwriting Association International.  The membership includes writing rooms, office space, weekly workshops, and a fantastic staff that I've quickly adopted into my life.  I also signed up with a yoga studio and fitness gym so that I can shower! The shower is my reward for exercising... the first week was very painful.  I had no idea I was so out of shape. I'm getting better on that front.  I'm no longer weeping silent tears throughout the work out.

I spend my days writing songs (yes - I have some coming, I promise!) and my evenings attending writing rounds, open mics, and live shows.  I've been meeting some fantastic people and am having the time of my life.  I've definitely come to the conclusion that I need to find a way to make a few Nashville trips a year.  There's nothing quite like concentrated focus to help you accomplish your goals.

Yesterday I was able to secure a quiet room to film and record a new song and I'll be spending the afternoon editing it so I can post it on my Patreon Site tonight or tomorrow!

Sorry for the long wait - I hope to blast out a couple of videos in the next week to make up for it!

Thanks for your ongoing support and I hope you're having a fantastic October.  I think I may be a Canadian Lumberjack for Halloween!
